  8. LEGAL INFORMATION:

  10.     FaxMail for Windows is shareware.  This means you have a chance to
  11.     test the performance FaxMail for Windows before committing yourself
  12.     to buying it.  You have a one month legal trial.  After one month you
  13.     must pay for FaxMail for Windows or discontinue its use.

  15.     FaxMail for Windows may be distributed freely, and no fee may be charged
  16.     for it except a nominal copying fee.  All trademarks contained herein
  17.     are registered to their respective owners.

  20. IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

  22.     If you are currently using another Fax-Program, you will have to disable
  23.     or remove it before using FaxMail for Windows as two Fax-Programs can
  24.     not share the same Fax/Modem or run concurrently.  To disable a
  25.     Fax-Program you may have to remove one or more lines from your
  26.     AUTOEXEC.BAT or CONFIG.SYS.  Typing rem ahead of a line in your
  27.     AUTOEXEC.BAT or CONFIG.SYS will disable it.  The only exception is; if
  28.     you are using an Intel SatisFAXtion CAS Fax/Modem, you will not want to
  29.     remove the CAS manager.  ALL other (Class 1 and Class 2) Fax/Modems will
  30.     use the Fax-Drivers provided by FaxMail for Windows.

  32.     Since not all of the brands and models of Fax/Modem on the market have
  33.     the same capabilities, and since the developer of FaxMail for Windows
  34.     did not have a modem of each and every model available to test
  35.     the software with, it is inevitable that some modems will not operate
  36.     properly with this software.  Models for which there were known 
  37.     compatibility problems that had not been resolved as of this release
  38.     are listed at the end of this file; if you have one of these, you
  39.     might want to try it anyway since there's a possibility that yours
  40.     might work.  The worst that can be expected to happen is that the Fax 
  41.     driver might not load or the program might hang or fail to operate, 
  42.     and perhaps your modem might be left in Fax mode and require manual 
  43.     resetting(turn it off and back on).  Since information about models
  44.     that don't work with this program will aid in correcting unsuspected
  45.     problems, we would appreciate any information you can give us about

  57.     This program modifies the WIN.INI file to add the FaxMail for Windows
  58.     Fax Driver, and it adds one or two drivers to your AUTOEXEC.BAT file,
  59.     depending on the type of Fax/Modem you have.  FaxMail for Windows also
  60.     puts the driver "FM_PN_DX.DRV" in your Windows system directory
  61.     { ?:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\FM_PN_DX.DRV }.  The Fax driver, as currently
  62.     written, does not provide a way to remove itself from memory but it
  63.     can be Disabled/Enabled.  More details are given below in the section
  64.     on HELPFUL HINTS.
